I've been an actor for 25 years.  I perform stand up, I act, and write.  Most of my life is auditioning, and changing my life for auditions.  I love I chose this life, and being a white male, unfortunatly, is my biggest plus.  I am happy to report the entertainment industry is changing.  We are trying to show America what it would look like if we were not living and breathing in a racist society.

I see the change at auditions.  Rooms used to be filled with white males.  Now rooms are filled with people of color and women.  However, groups are still missing. Latino for example.  And the best lines are still written for the white men in the script.  Because they are still be written by white men. 99% of Hollywood writers are white men, including me.

I saw a wonderful interaction at an audition a few weeks ago.  I was sitting in a room full of actors of color, and my white, male, minority ass was in the corner.  Sitting 6' away from the only other white male.  A white women enters and yells over everyone, hey Carl?  To the other white man in the room.  Carl yells back, hey Whitney.  We all turn and look at the yelling white folks.  They see us staring, and immeditaltly apologize.  Slinked to each other, and whispered their, haven't seen you since before covid hellos.  My first thought was, good on them for understanding they are the only race who can get away with screaming in public, over strangers mind you, every time.  My second thought was, I don't know if my friends are going to make it in todays Hollywood. My third thought was, it's white surpremist of me to think I will be making it in Today's Hollywood.
